About the position Commencing in January 2025, for a period of two years , we are looking for a Trainee Community Partnerships Officer to join our organisation.
This is an Identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977.
In this role you will assist in working closely with community members, Council staff, and partner organisations to understand and address social and community issues that impact the Muswellbrook Shire LGA.
This role is instrumental in raising awareness, fostering connections, and enhancing systems to create sustainable solutions that benefit and strengthen the community.
You will assist with promoting community inclusion and wellbeing through the delivery of partnership projects and programs that align with Council's strategic objectives.
This entry level position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in Council's Community Services Team, whilst simultaneously gaining a Certificate IV in Community Services.
About Muswellbrook Muswellbrook Shire Council is a progressive local government area, located under two hours from Newcastle and Tamworth and three hours from Sydney, in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley.

About you This is an Identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977.
Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
Current Drivers Licence (minimum NSW Provisional P1 Licence or equivalent).
A valid and current Working with Children Check.
A commitment to learn new skills and complete formal qualifications.
The ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision as required.
Good communication skills.
Proven team player qualities.
Patience and can relate easily to people.
Demonstrated key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the Position Description).
We offer Temporary full time employment for 2 years, working 35 hours per week.
The opportunity to complete a Certificate IV in Community Services.
Salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
Plus 11.5% superannuation.
