About the role We are delighted to announce that we have a vacancy for a Trainee - Blast Crew Operator to be assigned in New Acland, QLD.
This will be a 5/2 (Monday to Friday) roster.
Given the position's geographic location, we would prefer a local resident.
Our Trainee – Blast Crew Operators form part of a well-oiled, united, highly performing, supportive, and diverse team of Blasting Professionals.
As a valued member of our team, you will be specifically trained and supported to perform duties within our blast crew, and to eventually operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit).
An MMU is a highly advanced Heavy Rigid vehicle fitted with latest technologies and onboard computer systems and is used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer mine sites.
The natural career progression of a Trainee Blast Crew Operator is to advance to MMU Operator, then to Shotfirer once fully trained.

What you will be doing Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench; Operating our MMU vehicle (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and other associated blasting plant and machinery; Assisting with preventative maintenance; Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide an excellence in service to our valued customers; Daily administration and customer interactions; Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always'; At all times acting with integrity and respect.
What you will bring A current Heavy Rigid (HR) drivers' licence A Standard 11 (Open Cut) Certificate An excellent, positive and team-based attitude where you look out for your mates; A basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous, but not essential.
