Description Summary Service Stream's are currently seeking a Control Room Operator to join the team delivering exciting projects within our Transportation department under the Peninsula Link project.
About the Role Peninsula Link is a 27km, freeway standard, dual carriageway facility with interchanges and grade separations extending from the Mornington Peninsula Freeway and EastLink Interchange.
The Control Room Operators will provide control room operations through 24 hour monitoring to ensure that the asset remains free of hazards and that the customer experience is maintained through the flow of traffic and minimisation of disruption.
Operators also play a key role in the monitoring and response to all critical ITS systems.
Nature of position: Casual - Ongoing, up to Full Time hours Location: Frankston, Victoria Reporting Line: Control Room Supervisor Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to carry out the following: Perform duties of the Control Room Operator in the 24-hour 7-day week operation of the control room.
Monitor the asset and identify congestion, using the correct surveillance systems.
Initiate incident and emergency response processes in accordance with policies, plans and procedures.
Report and document all incidents, collisions, complaints and equipment failures.
Actively monitor and respond to alarms associated with ITS systems.
Proactively manage all relevant KPI's for the Peninsula Link Control Room.
Provide support on other activities where applicable with the opportunity of further training.
About You: To be successful in this role, you have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent documentation skills, and high-level problem-solving skills, including the ability to proactively develop innovative solutions to those problems.
In addition to the above, the successful candidate will also have: The ability to work on a 24/7 rotating shift basis (12hr shift).
Experience working in a Control Room or similar environment.
The ability to work as an individual and in a team.
Good computer skills.
Current and Valid Australian Driver's license.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to work independently at times due to rotating shift work.
It will be advantageous, however not essential, to have the following: Certificate IV in Traffic Operations.
First Aid.
Traffic Management tickets.
Construction White Card.
