Job Description Reporting to the Accounting Manager- Trading, you will be working as part of a team who are responsible for completion of all daily commodity accounting processes leading up and including the production of reliable, accurate and timely daily profit and loss reporting for the Trading and Marketing business. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation, review and analysis of monthly financial reports for the Trading and Marketing unit and other reporting duties.ResponsibilitiesCompletion of all daily commodity accounting processes, including daily valuation and review processes for contracts and inventory; price validation; cost accruals and provisioning for key cost items (eg: fees and charges, logistics), futures and foreign exchange valuation and settlementProduction, review and analysis of daily profit and loss report (Daily Gross Margin)Completion of month-end ledger reconciliation processes and the production, review and analysis of monthly financial statementsAssisting in financial accounting for other business units within LDCDaily bank reconciliations and debtor receiptingPreparation of BASAssist with internal and external audit requirements Assisting the Accounting Manager and Financial Controller with key corporate accounting processes relating to the Trading and Marketing business unit.Developing and implementing processes which improve efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.Develop and document appropriate policies and procedures for new and existing accounting processes. Experience Essential Qualifications:Finance or Accounting undergraduate degreeMembership of Professional accounting organisation (eg CPA or ICAA)Prior experience in a finance role preferred.Experience in a bulk commodity business preferred.Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.Skills, experience and competencies:Technical accounting knowledge gained from a large/ complex corporate environment, reporting according to IFRS standards.Good knowledge of accounting for derivatives instruments and physical commodity transactions, including recognition, valuation and mark-to-market and contract settlement principles.Good knowledge of operational processes used in a commodity business such as freight and logistics, inventory and contract management, trading risk management and hedging.Experience in meeting reporting deadlines including a daily reporting cycle.Knowledge of SAPB1 and/or AgTech ERP packages preferred.
