Newly created role for our growing team This role will suit an experienced Trade Assistant who enjoys working in a factory environment and is available to work rostered afternoon shifts. Our macadamia cracking and processing factory located at Alloway continues to grow and evolve. The Trade Assistant will provide general labouring assistance and support to our tradespeople and factory operators. This role will undertake preventative machinery maintenance and must regularly communicate and engage with a diverse group of people working in maintenance, production and quality. Experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment is advantageous. To provide the scope of maintenance support there is a requirement to complete on-the-job and external training to secure work-related licenses such as Working at Heights, Confined Space, First Aid, EWP, Forklift.
This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and will work both autonomously and in a team environment to ensure all plant and machinery is operating to manufacturing specifications and in sound working order.
Duties include but are not limited to: Assist with repairs and maintenance on production floor and in the workshop. Assist electrician and fitter to attend machine breakdowns. Identify machinery malfunctions and report to required persons. Support the Maintenance Supervisor to adhere to the maintenance schedule. Record all maintenance activities. Demonstrate an understanding of Work Health & Safety Practices. Keep the workshop areas clean and tidy. Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience Available to work afternoon rostered shifts. Experience in a similar Trade Assistant role is advantageous. Metal fabrication experience including welding is advantageous. Demonstrated attention to detail. Willingness to learn technology systems. Good communication skills. Willing to work in a diverse team environment. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. A 'can do' attitude with an openness to continuous learning. Effective time management and organisational skills. Valid driver's licence.
