Kingborough Council has a vacancy for a Tracks and Trails Maintenance Worker with the Works unit. This position undertakes a range of maintenance activities on council walking tracks and trails.
This position will work collaboratively with the Recreation Officer and other internal and external project stakeholders to implement strategies, plans, and policies to maintain and enhance a high-quality tracks and trails network.
You will need good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as being physically fit for work in an outdoor environment. A white card and full driver's license are essential, along with Working with Vulnerable People accreditation (or the ability to acquire this accreditation).
As a successful applicant, you will have: Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or qualification in a related discipline The ability to work competently in a safe manner Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team Good knowledge of the issues, principles, and practices relating to the wider issues of sustainable track development, construction and maintenance methods, and bushland management, including the management of threatened species and cultural heritage Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety procedures in a high-risk work environment. Basic computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Office including email, Excel, and Word Endorsed Medium Rigid Driver's License, or the ability to acquire this license First Aid certificate Excavator Competency Chainsaw License. The role is full-time and offers a salary in the range of $65,727 – $67,263 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus a 12.5% employer superannuation contribution.
