Are you a chartered Town Planner looking for the next opportunity in your career? This role could be exactly what you are looking for!Our client is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join their team in their HQ, on the banks of the River Tay in Perth. This role supports the utilities, forestry, and land management teams in securing statutory consents for operational developments, including farm buildings, hill tracks, and equipment.The Role:In this role, you will lead and manage planning projects, providing expert advice and guidance to clients while conducting site assessments and feasibility studies. You will prepare and submit planning applications and appeals, negotiating with local authorities and stakeholders.Staying updated on relevant planning legislation and policy changes is essential, as is advising colleagues and clients on a range of planning matters and rural planning issues throughout Scotland.The Ideal Candidate:You will have a degree in Town Planning or a related field, and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is essential. You will have proven experience in a planning role, with a strong background in rural development and knowledge of permitted development rights for agriculture, forestry, and statutory undertakers. You will have a strong understanding of UK planning laws and regulations, coupled with a keen enthusiasm for staying updated. Proven experience in handling commercial projects, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills, is required. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, effective communication skills, and a good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word packages.
