We have a permanent opportunity for a Town Planner located at Cairns, Mackay, Maryborough, Newstead, Rockhampton, Toowoomba or Townsville.

Novated lease options for personal use.About your role: As a Town Planner, you are responsible for providing town planning, policy advice, and works on various development application and referral processes. You will be part of a high-performing team undertaking referral agency duties for Energex and Ergon Electricity Entities. This involves receiving, reviewing, and responding to development application referrals for approvals for depots, substations, powerlines, and renewable energy developments to support our distribution areas and projects.
You will develop and maintain key relationships with a range of stakeholders to help us deliver high-quality results on our projects. Some project examples are:
Major depot redevelopments of our facilities in Rocklea & Maryborough.Upgrades to our Isolated Generation sites for solar farms in remote communities.Various projects related to the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan.If this role sounds like it's for you, check out 'about you' below and apply!
About you: In addition to your Degree level qualifications in urban and regional planning recognized by the Planning Institute of Australia, you have demonstrated experience in the preparation and management of development applications. You also have:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Planning Act 2016, Planning Regulation 2017, and other relevant legislation.Experience in carrying out Referral Agency duties for an electricity entity, ensuring both compliance and development near electricity infrastructure does not impact on the safety of the community or network efficiency.High-level stakeholder engagement and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize workload to ensure efficient service delivery.Excellent problem-solving skills to drive strategic and operational outcomes through coordinating with a range of stakeholders.What matters most to us is our values: We're Safe – We Belong - We Grow - We Deliver.
