Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time role of Town Planner.
Reporting directly to the Manager Planning and Development, the Town Planner is responsible for assessing development applications and providing advice relating to zoning, development proposals, land use matters and heritage. This position is required to participate efficiently and responsively in the Development Application process, focusing on the needs of applicants, owners, the community and reflecting best practices in the provision and application of those services.
To experience success in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Studies or Urban and Regional Planning. You will have extensive knowledge of development assessment and relevant legislation, regulations and codes applicable to the development area and Local Government. You will provide sound advice and write complex reports for management or other stakeholders.
