About the Role This is a Fixed Term role for 3 years The Towing Coordinator role sits within the Network Operations branch and is responsible for providing a range of administrative activities with a focus on overseeing clearways towing services and accident towing functions.
Support the administration of towing services including Clearway, Abandoned Vehicle, Hazard Vehicle and accident services in accordance with relevant legislation and contracts.
Administrative activities may include banking, data analysis, safety reviews, licence checks, digital filing, assessment of driver accreditation applications and similar.Provide high level customer service skills in response to public inquiries regarding clearway towing (including reviewing case files, preparation of correspondence and seeking internal delegate approval) and accident towing (including applications and allocations for the Melbourne metropolitan area).Apply competence to use interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholders' relationships and achieve successful outcomes.Assist with monitoring, maintaining and reporting on governance structures in accordance with relevant legislation and contract agreements relevant to the towing function.Perform monthly site safety visits with contractors to ensure compliance with contract arrangements.Ensure safe record keeping by securely and accurately storing all records relating to original contracts, correspondence, financial records and other documents for accessibility and efficient retrieval in accordance with department policies.Strive for business excellence through integrity, empathetic engagement and competence and uphold the VPS Code of Conduct, values and behaviours in line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic).
Other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.The ideal candidate will be proficient in executing project tasks according to plan, effectively prioritizing when plans are undefined, and maintaining accurate project records using approved management tools.
They will demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, interpreting existing guidelines and collaborating with others when needed to resolve issues and make informed decisions.
They will possess effective interpersonal skills, understanding stakeholder needs and tailoring communications accordingly.
The candidate will have foundational digital literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office tools, and applied data literacy, capable of generating descriptive statistics and visualizations using advanced Excel techniques.
They will be customer-focused, adept at identifying and responding to customer needs, tailoring services, and managing risks to ensure successful service delivery.
