The opportunity This is a unique opportunity to join WSP as the leader of the Newcastle Occupational Hygiene and Hazmat consulting team.
Your purpose will be to drive technical excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction within our team while nurturing a culture of continuous growth and development.
We welcome applications from candidates at the Senior Consultant level and above who possess a foundation in people management and aspire to develop their leadership capabilities further.
We will consider providing relocation support for someone who is eager to move to Newcastle.
What you'll do: Guide, mentor, and inspire a team of consultants to reach their highest potentialSupport their professional development plans, ensuring their growth and successCultivate a culture of teamwork, innovation, and passion, promoting trust and unity among team membersCollaborate with the national team to execute initiatives locallyCoordinate with the NSW manager and team leaders to achieve targetsManagement of your own projects of small to medium scaleOversee delivery of projects and development of your team members through effective resourcing of projects both in reactive and scheduled project scenariosEmpower senior staff to drive a high-performance culture and contribute to business development initiativesDevelop business development strategies and contribute to market action plans for targeted clientsPrepare compelling proposals and lead projects to meet budget and strategic goalsUphold a strong safety culture and champion safety initiativesAbout you: You're likely to have extensive experience in hazmat and/or occupational hygiene consulting, you're open to feedback and continuous improvement, and you maintain a professional demeanour under pressure.
In addition, you bring the following skills and attributes:
Advanced experience in assessing workplace hazards and environmental factors, risk management, and project scope managementProven track record in business development, proposal writing, and delivering exceptional client outcomes and cost-effective solutionsSkilled in management of staff and/or willingness to further develop these skillsRelevant professional certifications and ongoing training in SHEQ, project management, and client-centricityBachelor's Degree or equivalent in Applied Science, Environmental Engineering, Building Surveying, or Occupational Health and SafetyImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
