Two part time (3 days / 2 days per week) | maximum term positions available to 30 June 2027Increase fortnight take-home pay with access to $15,900 salary packaging benefits!10% gap discount for childcare services with Uniting Early LearningYour new roleThe Therapeutic Specialist position is a key role within the Therapeutic Services team, funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and Family Safety Victoria (FSV). This position involves providing short to medium-term therapeutic interventions for children and young people living in family violence refuges alongside their families. The primary responsibility is to design and implement tailored therapeutic support aimed at promoting safe, stable, and nurturing environments that foster positive adjustment and development for vulnerable children.
In addition to direct therapeutic work, the Therapeutic Specialist will contribute to the professional development of community stakeholders by offering training on contemporary and effective approaches to working with vulnerable children and families. This role plays a crucial part in supporting both individual children and the wider community, ensuring that vulnerable families receive the most effective therapeutic interventions.

You will also have:
Extensive experience within the family violence and/or child protection sectors, working with children and/or adults experiencing complex trauma.Extensive experience providing assessments, therapy / counselling services to children, adults, couples and families with complex needs. This would mean that you have completed counselling with complex clients.Well-developed risk assessment and risk management skills.Demonstrated understanding of the gendered nature of family violence, and feminist theory in responding to violence against women and children in the home.A person-centred approach with the ability to tailor your work to meet the unique needs of children, young people and victims/survivors.Proven ability to work collaboratively with other services, agencies and professionals to achieve optimal consumer outcomes.How to applyClick APPLY to submit your interest.
