You are a registered nurse who has acquired the expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for advanced practice. As the Renal Vascular Access CNC, you will be proficient in the management and coordination of renal vascular access in the CKD and Dialysis population by providing clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the specialty of renal vascular access.
Position Duties Provide expert nephrology nursing care; apply a diverse range of interventions based on theoretical concepts, research findings, critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
Use clinical judgement to vary practice according to contextual and cultural influences.
Promote a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to care with vascular, radiology and renal teams and patients.
Manage the creation of dialysis access for patients on referral from public, private and regional clinics.
Coordinate Rapid Access multidisciplinary team meetings and action treatment pathways.
Coordinate referrals to renal access clinic to ensure timely consent and surgery.
Classifications for this position will be ZF4 - ZJ4 ($107,962.00 - $113,646.00 pro rata per annum)
Your Contribution Degree in general Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA.
Post Grad Certificate/ Diploma in Renal Nursing.
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain.

About the Nephrology Department St Vincent's Hospital Renal service provides care for patients across the entire spectrum of renal disease, from the ambulatory care of those with CKD to meeting the dialysis and transplant needs of those with ESKD. SVHM is known as a hub provider of renal services supporting a number of regional and rural satellite as well as in-centre renal dialysis facilities.
