Join our team as a Commis Chef at The Star Brisbane .
Our breathtaking resort, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will commence a staged opening in August 2024, bringing a range of unique entertainment options, world-class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city.
The roles will report to senior team members within the venues, becoming an important part of our pre-opening team. These roles offer the opportunity to produce food items relevant to the Chef's station to the highest possible standards of quality and presentation whilst meeting established deadlines.
A few of your responsibilities Prepares food in a clean working environment in line with business volumes. Thorough knowledge of the entire menu, including an understanding of all base products and ingredients used. Food is prepared for food presentation, in line with menu requirements and kitchen standards (SOP's). Demonstrate knowledge of and be able to use a broad range of cooking and food preparation equipment and skills, such as sauté, braising, etc. What we will be looking for High volume culinary experience. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations. Trade certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification). You will be experienced in high volume kitchen environments with sound knowledge across all sections. These roles require comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and OH&S standards and taking pride in keeping your section stocked and tidy. These roles are integral to the team and ensuring all preparation for your section is in line with service for the day and adhering to food safety requirements.

Treasury Brisbane will transition into The Star Brisbane aligned to an early 2024 opening.
