About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Store Manager who will manage the daily recycling, retail, pickup and delivery, and administrative functions of the Family Store in line with The Salvation Army's mission and values.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (15.2 hours per week) position based in Long Jetty, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Level 6 Award.
You will successfully Provide leadership and direction in terms of sourcing and presenting stock as well as selling and delivering. Oversee the display of goods for sale, authorise/set pricing, coordinate adequate labour and physical resources, approving adjustments to pricing or discounts to customers. Lead a safe workplace environment, report any property or equipment damage and coordinate all repairs in consultation with Corps Officer. Recruit, maintain and manage an excellent volunteer/employees force that run the store efficiently (including coordination of Work for the Dole, State Debt Recovery or other similar community or corporate volunteer resource programs). You will have 2 years' experience in retail and/or customer service (preferably in a supervisory/managerial role). Demonstrated experience in cash handling, banking, and cash register operations and reconciliations. 1 year experience in mentoring/training and managing staff or ability to demonstrate capability to undertake. Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry would be highly desirable. Self-motivation, high level of initiative and a strong work ethic. Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people. The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. Team working skills, flexibility with a positive attitude. Excellent customer service skills. Solid level of computer literacy and basic bookkeeping.
