Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey.
About the role We are seeking an experienced and dynamic State Manager FDV / Modern Slavery to join our team. This critical leadership role will oversee the operational management of all services within the portfolio, ensuring effective, efficient, and compliant service delivery to those impacted by family and domestic violence. As the State Manager, you will play a vital role in shaping and enhancing the delivery of essential services, building strong teams, and driving the growth and sustainability of the programs.
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a max term (until December 2025), full-time position based in Redfern, NSW. Salary and conditions above SCHADS Award Level 8.
Key Responsibilities Operational Management: Manage Governance, Risk Management and mitigation, contractual and accreditation requirements.Team Leadership: Lead the development of strong, resilient, and qualified teams of social service professionals who are equipped to deliver high-quality services. Foster a positive and collaborative work culture to enhance team performance.Funding and Contract Management: Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to support and expand service delivery. Lead contract negotiations with State and Federal governments for new or revised funding agreements, ensuring the long-term sustainability of services.Research and Evaluation: Implement national research and evaluation frameworks across the state to assess and measure service outcomes. Stay informed on sector trends and adapt service delivery to meet evolving needs.Budget and Resource Management: Prepare and manage budgets for service delivery, ensuring resources are used efficiently and effectively. Monitor financial performance and make adjustments as needed.Collaboration and Policy Development: Collaborate with colleagues nationally and across service streams to contribute to national policy development and advocacy efforts.
