Terminal Operator

Details of the offer

About our team
As the largest grain storage and handling network on the east coast of Australia, we operate more than 150 regional receival sites and seven bulk port terminals.
We store and market wheat, barley, canola, sorghum and specialty commodities, connecting over 10,000 growers with more than 1,000 end-market customers across the food, beverage, edible oils and animal feed industries.
Our people can be proud of the increasingly important essential service we provide across the food supply chain.
About the role
Terminal Operators at our port-side grain terminals are critical to ensuring that we deliver an efficient and safe service in exporting and importing grains and other commodities.
This includes wheat, barley, sorghum, oilseeds and magnesia.
The core activities of a terminal operator include rail and road receival, shipping, road outloading, plant hygiene, grain protection and grain assessing among others.
As a member of a multi-skilled work environment, you will be expected to take on other activities within the plant in accordance with training and experience.
We provide you with the tools and training required to perform your job effectively and safely.
About your experience
We're seeking individuals who align to our values and especially a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
You should have sound communication skills and relate well to others.
The desire and willingness to learn and accept new challenges is essential.
You'll have experience in general labouring work, trades and services, building and construction or transport and logistics, though we are open-minded to a range of experiences.
A forklift and/or loader ticket is preferred.
This work requires flexibility to work some nights and/or weekends, as needed, to meet vessel loading requirements.
In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical. Do you share our passion for contributing to the success of a diverse, international team?
At GrainCorp, we value and respect the different perspectives and experiences our people bring to work each day.
We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce – leading to a range of different thinking, perspectives and ideas that create the innovation we need to drive better business results.
We aim to have a work environment where everyone feels included and everyone can realise their full potential.
