We currently have a temporary vacancy for two years for a PO4 Senior Surveyor to join the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office. In this role, you'll be part of a dedicated team working on large rail infrastructure projects. Your efforts will help improve the way people travel between Brisbane, Logan, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.

The Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office (RIDO) leads the delivery of a growing major rail program and oversees a state-wide series of significant rail projects to fulfill the Queensland government's priorities. RIDO ensures that Transport and Main Roads (TMR) rail project delivery teams collaborate effectively with each other, Queensland Rail, and industry partners to provide a consistent customer experience that meets evolving expectations in a timely manner. Additionally, RIDO focuses on developing TMR's rail-specific capabilities for the future workforce, ensuring alignment with existing TMR rail branches—Strategic Rail and Passenger Rollingstock and Signalling—to support the rail program outlined in SEQ Rail Connect.
RIDO is currently responsible for significant rail projects including the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project ($5.75 billion) and the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project ($550.8 million). These projects are key infrastructure investments in preparation for the Brisbane 2023 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Both the Australian and Queensland governments have committed substantial investments toward these projects. Furthermore, several additional rail projects are under consideration for future development to benefit the Queensland community. Reporting to the Principal Surveyor, you will utilise your skills and knowledge to manage and deliver geospatial products, services and projects and provide authoritative advice on engineering survey, photogrammetry, remote sensing and other geospatial information acquisition issues.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Manage the delivery of geospatial products and services for Rail Infrastructure projects.
• Provide authoritative advice to internal and external clients on all forms of geospatial technology including engineering surveying, laser scanning, photogrammetry & remote sensing.
• Prepare project specifications, plans, and drawings, and manage the preparation of open market bids and internal offers.
• Project manage applied research projects to enhance the geospatial technology capabilities of Transport & Main Roads (TMR) in delivering rail transport infrastructure.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge to establish and implement strategies that develop departmental expertise in geospatial sciences, thereby boosting TMR's technical capability to meet its geospatial needs.
