Role Responsibilities: As a Telecommunications Technician at Fillcon, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of telecommunications systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Act as a team lead and support a self-sufficient manner on-site, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Conduct installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment, including termination and testing of fibre optic cables, to ensure uninterrupted communication services. Coordinate and oversee telecommunications projects from start to finish, ensuring timelines are met and resources are utilised effectively. Ensure compliance with current Telecommunications Standards and Industry Practices, maintaining high levels of quality and safety in all activities. Identify and troubleshoot telecommunications issues, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime and maximise system performance. Safety First: Prioritise safety in all tasks, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures to create a secure working environment for yourself and your team. Qualifications Required: Experience in termination and testing of fibre optic cables (essential) Certificate III in Telecommunications or 2+ years vetted Telecommunications technical experience. Open registered cabler (ACMA) Construction Card (White Card) Current Valid Driver's License Full Australian Working Rights First Aid Training with CPR. Gas test atmospheres or Confined Space entry RIIWHS302E - Implement traffic management plan Identify, locate, and protect underground services (RIICCM202A, RIICCM202D, RIICCM202E) Construct underground telecommunications infrastructure - ICTCBL253 Install underground enclosures and conduit - ICTCBL334 CPCCDE3014 (non-friable) and a valid Asbestos Workers Medical CPCCDE4008 (supervise asbestos removal) and a valid Asbestos Workers Medical. Certification – Scissor Lift, EWP, excavator and/or working at Heights. Telstra Network Site Induction & hold a Telstra OneCard. Working for Fillcon: Competitive Rate $45 - $55 p/hr based on experience Ongoing project work and labour hire arrangements.
