Narreteck Communications is committed to delivering reliable telecommunications solutions and maintaining high standards of service across Australia.Qualifications & experienceMinimum 1 year of experience (preferably 2 years) as a Telecommunications Technologist or Technical Officer.Advanced Diploma or higher in Telecommunications.First Aid and CPR certification.Certification for working at heights.Strong fiber skills, including detailed knowledge of enclosures, joints, and testing/commissioning.Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of clients.Proficiency in HFC technology, including upgrading, changing, and testing.Flexible and adaptable, with availability to work both weekdays and weekends.Maintain a professional, well-presented demeanor while working effectively under pressure.Team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently without supervision.Tasks & responsibilitiesPlan, develop, and maintain customer access telecommunications network infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with emerging technologies.Install, maintain, and diagnose various telecommunications equipment and devices, ensuring proper functionality from exchange to modem, and adherence to technical specifications.Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot telecommunications network systems, integrating technology with computer hardware, software, and peripherals to optimize performance, resolve issues, and ensure seamless operation with timely updates and enhancements.Provide Tier 2 technical support on the NBNCo network, handling network incidents, and managing change requests to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to manage contracts and ensure compliance with SLAs, performance standards, and project requirements.Test and maintain network technologies, including enclosures and equipment, in accordance with Telstra and NBNCo guidelines, documenting results for compliance and quality assurance.Develop strategies for network expansion, upgrades, and preventive maintenance, incorporating future growth and market needs.Maintain accurate logs of equipment, parts, inventories, and document policies and quality standards to ensure compliance and traceability.Liaise with clients to provide technical advice on network infrastructure, ensuring they are informed of progress and potential improvements.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all network operations, promoting safe work practices and minimizing risks associated with telecommunications infrastructure.
