About the role
DroneShield is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, NSW.
At DroneShield, we require a passionate TechOps Engineer to join our Platforms team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing Linux based hardware and Cloud systems to ensure high levels of availability and security.
Your role involves providing support to Field Engineers, updating software, and remotely configuring customer devices.
You will work closely with Program Managers, Field Service Engineers and internal teams to do your role.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
Provide Level 2 technical support for C2 software and services escalated by Level 1 Field Services Engineers Perform software updates and patches to ensure systems are secure and running efficiently Remotely change configurations on customer devices as per requirements or troubleshooting procedures.
Provide support and maintenance to address security vulnerabilities, and optimise system performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement long-term solutions to recurring problems Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles and support documentation Participate in the development and refinement of TechOps procedures and practices Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, managing multiple tasks and priorities Qualifications, Experience and Skills
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in a technical support role with a focus on Linux environments Proven ability to manage Linux servers remotely, including software updates and configuration changes.
Experience with Bash and one or more Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Salt-Stack, Puppet, Chef) Knowledge of the following would also be desirable : Networking protocols and concepts
