Our client is seeking a Technology Risk Manager to join their dynamic team in Brisbane CBD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide thought leadership and strategic direction in the design and implementation of risk strategies. You will be working closely with key business stakeholders, providing expert guidance on technology risk and resilience best practices, governance, and effective controls. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a supportive environment that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.What you'll do:As a Technology Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the risk management strategy within the organisation. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be utilised as you work closely with various teams across the organisation to define risk solutions. You will be responsible for delivering expert guidance on technology risk, resilience best practices, governance, and effective controls. Your ability to review and challenge outputs from Risk Frameworks will be crucial in ensuring policy compliance. You will also be tasked with implementing relevant risk tools while providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders. Your role will involve ensuring that internal and external audit reviews are carried out effectively while identifying, monitoring, escalating, and logging incidents.Provide advice and thought leadership to ensure successful design and implementation of risk strategies.Apply professional consultancy skills to understand requirements and propose appropriate solutions based on Risk Frameworks, Industry standards and leading practices.Provide technical consultation and direction to teams in Technology and Operations (T&O) and the broader business teams.Deliver expert guidance on Technology risk and resilience best practices, governance and effective controls.Review and challenge the output from Risk Frameworks and Standards providing visibility of policy compliance, risk appetite statement compliance, implementation status and health.Implement and use relevant risk tools providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders.Ensure internal and external audit reviews are carried out effectively.Identify, monitor, escalate and log incidents, trends and emerging risks into the IRIIS risk platform.What you bring:The ideal candidate for the Technology Risk Manager position brings a wealth of experience in risk management within the financial services industry. Your strong understanding of Risk Management concepts coupled with your ability to develop effective relationships with all stakeholders sets you apart. Your working knowledge of Regulatory requirements and understanding of governance concepts will be crucial in this role. You possess a deep knowledge of technology industry best practices for IT development, operations, and support. Your ability to promote effective inter-departmental relationships and negotiate to influence planning and determine priorities is highly valued.Strong understanding of Risk Management concepts and supporting frameworks.Proven experience in developing effective relationships with all stakeholders.Working knowledge of Regulatory requirements.Understanding of governance concepts such as delegations of authority, legal and regulatory compliance.Knowledge of technology industry best practices for IT development, operations, and support.Ability to promote effective inter-departmental relationships.Negotiation skills to influence planning and determine priorities.Experience working with stakeholders at various levels of an organisation.What sets this company apart:Our client is a leading organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
