About this Position:The Technology and Innovation team keeps Lismore City Council running.
They manage and maintain everything from external facing websites and systems to internal communication platforms and surveillance operations, not to mention firewalls and cloud infrastructure.
They are always thinking about how to improve our tech and look to be as innovative as we can be.
Aside from being passionate about tech, this team likes to have a good time.
Working in IT can be stressful and high pressured, and this team understands the importance of balancing that with regular catch ups, debriefs and trivia afternoons.
What we can offer you:Flexible work options working within operational requirementsHealth & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance ProgramsTraining and development opportunities to build and maintain capabilitiesWhat we trust you to deliver:High level technical support where required to a diverse range of teams within the organisation.Support and mentoring to team members.Working with a team that is passionate about providing, maintaining and improving the technology offerings to internal and external customers of Lismore City Council.Resolution to operational support faults and requests for infrastructure and cloud computing and provide expert advice on improvements.What you will need to be successful:Be an experienced and skilled IT professional: You bring a broad technical skill set, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Server, SQL, Office 365, as well as enterprise-grade networking and security equipment such as HPE Layer 3 switches, Aruba access points, and firewalls from Palo Alto, Fortinet, and SonicWall.
Experience with MS Teams telephony is also highly regarded.Cloud, IoT, and SCADA expertise: You have extensive experience working with cloud infrastructures, IoT solutions, and SCADA networks, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable operations.Security-focused approach: You excel at designing and implementing security policies for IP Telephony, LAN, WAN, VPN, and mobile devices.
You're well-versed in network security standards and risk management methodologies.A supportive team player: You're driven by the potential of technology to improve others' workflows and remain committed to continuous improvement, always staying current with the latest industry developments.Proficient script writer: You're confident creating scripts in multiple languages, with a strong emphasis on PowerShell, enabling you to automate tasks and enhance efficiency.A skilled communicator: Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills allow you to negotiate, influence, and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.Adaptable and reliable: Recognising our 24/7 operational environment, you're prepared to occasionally support tasks outside standard business hours when needed.Flexible working arrangements:Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are on offer for the suitable candidate: job share, part time, and other flexible working opportunities available.
Working from home or office locations of Alstonville, Ballina, Lennox Head, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Mullumbimby, Goonellabah, Lismore, Kingscliff, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads.
Salary:A salary range from $1,574.10 to $2,008.82 per week + superannuation depending on skills and experience.
