Technology Lawyer (2-5 PQE) – Brisbane We are seeking a Technology Lawyer to join our market leading IP & Technology Practice in Brisbane This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to: Join a market leading, top tier practice in Brisbane Collaborate and contribute to a successful and impactful team Work on large, complex matters for a variety of clients An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated lawyer to join our IP & Technology practice.
This role is based in our Brisbane office, and will see you working at the forefront of complex technology and outsourcing projects for our Australian and internationally based clients.
You will also be involved in advising on a range of related issues including intellectual property, privacy and artificial intelligence.
Working closely with Partners Simon Newcomb and Cameron Gascoyne as part of a driven, and dynamic team, this role will work across both private and public sectors with a shared vision of shaping Australia's future business, industry and consumer landscape through transformative work and revolutionary thinking.
To be successful in this role, you will have: 2-5 years post-qualification experience in a (preferably top tier) firm environment A strong academic record of achievement Exceptional technical (especially contract drafting) skills A capacity for superior written and verbal expression and an aptitude for reshaping and expressing complex concepts in a concise and intelligent way Creativity, imagination and the capacity for unconventional problem-solving Prior experience with technology contracts is not essential, although ideally you will have an interest in technology trends and the legal and regulatory issues arising from emerging technologies.
In addition to this, we are looking for someone who has: A high level of attention to detail and an ability to draft clear, commercially orientated, and incisive advice Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills for building client relationships A naturally collegiate mindset and positive attitude, which prioritises respect for peers and collaborative working Intellectual Property and Technology team Our high performing Intellectual Property and Technology team is one of Australia's largest and most experienced specialist groups and works at the forefront of rapid regulatory and technological change.

We work with clients including government agencies, regulators, major corporates, telcos, media networks and personalities, private equity firms, banks (international and local), print and digital publishers, and IT software and equipment suppliers and their users.
