Salary: $91,702 - $104,753 (APS 6) + BDCP + Super
The successful applicant will project manage compliance with domestic and international export and technology control requirements in accordance with Defence Policies, International Agreements, and Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group requirements.
As a part of the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Branch Business Directorate, this role is an excellent opportunity for an individual to rise to a new challenge. You will work in an integrated Australian Defence Force, Australian Public Service, and contracted workforce to support the greatest regeneration of our country's naval capability since the Second World War.
This role provides excellent development opportunities and exposure to multiple stakeholders across Defence and our international partners. You will work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices, and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission of keeping Australia safe. The role will have a major focus on using your organisational and analytical skills to research, plan, liaise, negotiate, and work within the priorities/timeframes to meet business outcomes.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

The Hunter Class Frigate represents one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting-edge technology and capabilities. As Australia's largest shipbuilding project, HCF represents the cornerstone of Australian Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. We work with experts from the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe to solve highly complex challenges in construction at the newly designed Osborne Naval Shipyard, utilising the latest production technologies, including robotic welding. Contributing to the HCF Project will encourage you to be cooperative, collegiate, innovative, and decisive through building key stakeholder collaborative relationships.

Have a strong work ethic; Work well in a team environment; Have the ability to research, understand, interpret, and provide advice on technology and export control policy and procedures; Exhibit adaptability, resilience, and flexibility in the face of changing priorities, and be open to learning new things and willing to assist other teams; Have good communication skills; Be able to multi-task in order to meet deadlines; Have experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships to deliver and negotiate outcomes with varying ranks/levels; Possess a good level of computer literacy across multiple systems (records management systems, MS Office, databases). The ideal candidate will be capable of working both autonomously and in a team environment. Periodic short-term domestic travel is required.
