We are seeking a Technology Area Manager for our Papermaking Projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the best value of Essity's papermaking investments and identifying business opportunities within papermaking technology.
Reporting to the Technology Area Director, you will be responsible for managing technology solutions in your assigned area and projects around Europe. You will work closely with manufacturing sites, product and material developers, and the papermaking technology team to deliver robust and cost-efficient process and equipment solutions.

What you will do: Deliver technology directions for best-in-class projects that meet strict safety, quality, financial, and scheduling requirements. Assist throughout the project lifecycle: scope definition, process review, bidding, technology choices, negotiations, Capex approval, technical risk assessment, design reviews, and commissioning. Ensure regular adjustments align with business strategy and maintain vendor qualification. Provide input for Capex requests and be accountable for the entire papermaking technology scope, including equipment, installation, and startup support. Conduct feasibility studies and develop, implement, and improve technology standards. Secure manufacturability aspects in developments, resulting in cost-efficient investments and reduced manufacturing complexity. Identify, mitigate, and eliminate risks during project phases. Manage IP rights between Essity and machine suppliers to secure freedom to operate. Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time to support project implementation around Europe. Who You Are: At least 5 years of experience in the Paper Industry as a Process Engineer or Project Manager or similar roles. Preferably hold a University degree in chemical, mechanical, or papermaking engineering. Possess commercial and financial knowledge to support CAPEX review processes. Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills with the ability to facilitate and influence. Demonstrated sound judgment, strong business acumen, and analytical skills. Experience in working with multi-functional international teams in challenging environments. Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Familiarity with quality assurance methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Reliability Engineering) and external supplier relations.
