Casual positions availableConveniently located near public transportUpskill and build your career in ProductionAbout the Role As Technician, Staging, you'll utilise your technical knowledge as part of an experienced Staging crew and the wider Production team to ensure the smooth running of our live presentations, performances and events. You'll participate in the pre-production, rigging/de-rigging, rehearsal and performance of shows and events in line with presenter requirements and ensure this is done safely and effectively. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, physical stamina and the ability to work well under pressure.
Casual position. Band 2.1 $31.51 per hour plus 25% casual loading and superannuation. Your Skills and Experience You will be experienced and knowledgeable in theatre staging, understanding the theory involved in staging concepts and how to utilise this knowledge to achieve and create specific staging and artistic effects.
You will also possess:
A relevant trade qualification, Diploma or higher at a recognised institution or equivalent extensive experience working within the entertainment industryA knowledge and appreciation of materials, processes and techniques relevant to scenery used in theatre events and productionsExperience and knowledge of weights, loads, speed and capacity of ropes and winches to ensure safe operationKnowledge of ropes, knots, whipping, splicing, and basic trade skills in painting and carpentryExperience and knowledge in the use of basic hand and power tools including the appropriate safety requirements of their useKnowledge and understanding of staging procedures and techniques including manual handling, cloth tying, folding and rolling, dance floor rolling and handling, basic theatre rigging, toggling, floor laying and flat carrying.Some experience in Fly system operationA Dogman, Basic or Intermediate Riggers licence, Fire Emergency Warden training and Elevated Work Platform licence are also desirableThe Production team delivers production services for ACM across Staging, Lighting, Audio, Broadcast, Wardrobe, Production Management, Stage Management, and Safety/Training to enable the safe and efficient delivery of events across all of our venues and spaces.
