As Brandt continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Trainer to join our operations team. About the role: As the Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for assessing the development needs of Brandt's service technicians and implementing a suitable development program for all branches. This will include developing suitable instructional and evaluation materials related to repair, overhaul, diagnosis, maintenance and operation of heavy powered equipment and associated attachments and technology.
This role will ensure that development activities are aligned with continuous improvement, quality, health and safety, and organisational performance through recording, monitoring, reporting, and integrating feedback and data.
Main Accountabilities include but are not limited to: Actively contribute to and collaborate on the development and implementation of the company's overall technician development paths, plans, and schedules. Deliver training as a Certified Dealer Instructor (CDI) or in-house subject matter expert. Develop professional quality, instructionally sound educational curriculum that enables students to efficiently, effectively, and safely operate, diagnose, repair, and/or evaluate equipment. Identify sources to help develop professional quality classroom, hands-on, and online training courses and programs. Ensure evaluations (tests, hands-on demonstrations, etc.) are appropriate to measure student competence. Maintain an up-to-date catalogue of program materials including course outlines and descriptions. Schedule training delivery in collaboration with service managers, supervisors, and foremen. Communicate accurate and complete training schedules and course information. Document and report student evaluation scores and attendance, and report on performance against metrics. As required, prepare and distribute certificates of completion to students, and arrange program completion recognition. Attend internal and external (e.g., John Deere) training to maintain CDI status and achieve certification in new product models, technology, or other topics as required. Collaborate and liaise with outside agencies (e.g., OEMS, etc.) on behalf of Brandt. About you: A heavy-duty certificate is a strong asset as is prior experience in training and instructional delivery. John Deere Certified Dealer Instructor or willingness to obtain. Possesses a solid foundation of mechanical, analytical, technical, and instructional design and delivery knowledge and skills. Strong project management skills with ability to self-direct and organise work, set priorities, and achieve work-related objectives and goals. Excellent communicator that can effectively and professionally collaborate with all stakeholders. Flexibility to support and respond to the training needs of Brandt's operating locations and their personnel. Demonstrates professionalism and recognises the importance of their role as a leader in displaying professional behaviour and service excellence.
