The Technical Specialist – Security & Vulnerabilities Operations reports to the Group Technology Services - Security Operations Manager but will work closely with all business units within the SSE organisation. This role is a key part for the successful ongoing maintenance of Group Technology Services security services against SSE policies and standards and in line with contractual and agreed service levels.
Experience of managing vulnerability backlogs, excellent business stakeholder management and outsource supplier management skills are therefore required to successfully carry out this role.
Key Responsibilities: Provide support to the GTS Service Operations Manager to implement the Vulnerability and Security policies and practices operation that help to protect SSE from cyber threats. Using people, processes, and technology to continuously monitor and improve the organisation's security posture while preventing and responding to cyber security incidents. Help to develop and implement changes to Infrastructure and Cloud security services that improves SSE's security posture. Carry out Security Application and Privileged Access Management Audits regularly and manage responses on behalf of the GTS Group. Ensure the operational security and integrity of Infrastructure and Cloud services and that services are delivered against SSE's standards. What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
Ability to interact with SSE staff at all levels up to senior management and across all business units within SSE. Experience of delivering IT Security Vulnerability services and disciplines, coupled with expertise in applying security professional standards. Experienced across a broad range of IT Client and Server Operating Systems (Windows, Redhat, Unix). Experience of identifying, analysing and remediating vulnerabilities using VM tools Qualys/Defender/Kenna/SEP, with the ability to adopt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines in a high-pressure environment.
