Our growing team of aviation specialists provides support to our clients in the areas of aerodrome design, project management and construction, maintenance, technical inspections and aerodrome surveys, operational readiness, airport security, training, regulatory compliance, audits, and ongoing daily operations.
About the Role AMS has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Technical Services Manager to join our team at our head office located at Perth Airport. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead a diverse team of professionals in a growth environment. This opportunity will suit someone with exposure to managing both operational and commercial performance in senior leadership positions. Regular responsibilities include:
• In collaboration with the CEO, develop, implement and manage business strategies of the organisation to deliver transformational change, improve operational efficiencies and drive growth
• Manage the Technical Services Department and work with Leads to enact strategies and achieve corporate outcomes
• Provide leadership to the Technical Services Department and set Key Performance Objectives for departments to drive accountability and performance
• Facilitate department meetings and reporting as required
• Assist the CEO with operational planning, including the development of operational policies
About You AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you'll already be off to a great start if you have a blend of relevant technical and leadership experience, as well as:
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience managing people effectively
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of working effectively with a variety of stakeholders
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and history of delivering sound commercial outcomes and growth
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Aerodrome Management Services Pty Ltd (AMS) was established in May 1996 having operated as a registered business since 1990. The aim was to provide inspection and survey services to what was then a comparatively small client base.
Since then our client base has grown substantially and we have diversified and expanded to cater for associated areas. We now provide a 'one-stop' service covering all aspects of aerodrome and airport management, from engineering, design, and construction services to inspections, training, and equipment supply.
Our Managing Director, Kevin Thomas, has over 30 years of experience in airport operation and management. Before starting AMS he was the Manager – Airports for Wallace Emery and Associates (then owners of Broome Airport) and prior to that the District Airport Inspector with the Department of Aviation.
