Join us as Technical Service Specialist for the Process Automation (Electrical) Business Area where you will be performing complex field service tasks, identifying technical problems, and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which you are certified to perform in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. Reporting to Service Operations Manager and this position will be based in Perth, Australia. Your responsibilities Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform task or sequence of tasks, assignments using established solutions Acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completes service assignments for that discipline Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors Interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers. Attending service meetings and presents all technical aspects of support assignments Assisting in creating proposals for service opportunities through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates. Assisting in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal Coaching project/service engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, proto-typing and calculations Leading , supervising, and coordinating teams in all service/engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) Your background Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience Experience in E-House / Synchronous Condensers,Electrical calculations Prior experience in commissioning, LV, MV switchgear and drives experience Electrical, Program Logic Control (PLC) and Supervising Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience Experience in AC800 & ACS880 AC/LC, ACS6000 ABB drives highly preferred Background in leading design teams and being a customer focal point as a Lead Engineer in delivering complex electrical projects Strong understanding of secondary and primary systems design with experience in undertaking power systems studies using packages such as (PSCAD, PSSE) More about us ABB Energy Industries is enabling safe, smart and sustainable projects and operations for businesses across the oil, gas, chemicals, life sciences, power generation and water sectors.
