The Technical Officer, reporting to the Manager Asset Engineering, will work collaboratively with the Asset Engineering team to implement an asset management approach to improve Council's management of its Transport, Stormwater, Recreational & Open Space, and Marine asset networks.The Technical Officer – Transport will provide best practice advice and develop capital works programs that drive financial sustainability, reduce Council's risk, and strive to improve the liveability of our region.Employee BenefitsMonthly RDO5 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% loading)15 days personal leaveUp to 12% employer superannuation contributionAccess to discounted health insuranceSalary packaging opportunities for vehicles, rent, mortgages, electricity, and gasFitness Passport Wellness Program for you and your familyEmployee Assistance Program for you and your familyTasks & ResponsibilitiesAct as the Asset Custodian on behalf of Asset Engineering to ensure that transport and Recreational & Open Space assets are maintained to provide sustainable services to the communityPrepare plans and designs for civil engineering works such as drainage, transport, and open spaceScope and cost both operational and capital civil infrastructure projectsInspect civil engineering works, ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisionsUndertake the development, review, and implementation of the Asset Management Plan for transport and Recreational & Open Space asset classesImplement the improvement action items identified within these asset management plansDevelop and maintain levels of service and provide input into inspection programs in line with Council's risk management framework and asset management plansProvide technical support to complete asset revaluations of Transport and Recreational & Open Space assetsQualification & ExperienceYou will have an Associate Degree of Engineering (ADNG) – Civil Engineering (or relevant post-secondary qualification in Civil Construction/Engineering) with at least two years of relevant experience related to the key outcomes and accountabilities of the role.
