Band 4 $71,052- $74,618 yearly, plus 11.5% statutory superannuation We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Officer to join our Yarram Depot on a full-time basis. In this role, you'll work with the Road Management & Operations (Rural - South) team to carry out the Council's Road Management Plan. You'll also assist the Road Maintenance Supervisor in organizing the workforce, machinery, and subcontractors to ensure road maintenance is carried out efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities include: Inspecting and recording the condition of Council assets like roads, footpaths, drainage systems, and public areas across the Shire. Responding to customer requests in a timely manner and making sure the right staff are assigned to specific projects. Supervising contractors who supply materials and equipment. Ensuring that all equipment and materials are available, safe, well-maintained, and fit for use. Providing on-call support to the Road Management & Operations team. To succeed in this role, you'll need: Strong communication skills and experience in leading and supporting a team. Experience in road maintenance and construction for local government projects. A good understanding of work, health and safety rules. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate team members. Able to use computer systems and software effectively. Good communication and people skills, with the ability to work well with staff, contractors, and suppliers. Why Wellington?
