Job Description - Technical Officer, Arboriculture (2400530)Technical Officer, Arboriculture - ( 2400530 )An office unlike any otherA job as dependable as youFull Time, Permanent OpportunityAbout the OpportunityIn this role you will enhance the presentation of the Park Lands and City streets, and comply with safety and environmental standards through effective maintenance of the City's trees.You will do this through providing technical advice aligning with relevant Australian Standards to project teams, reviewing planning applications, managing City of Adelaide's tree planting program, undertake various tree reports; carrying out Arboriculture works such as tree injecting, cabling and bracing; and carrying out tree inspections.Some of the day-to-day things you'll see yourself doing may include:Work closely with infrastructure teams providing technical expertise regarding impact to trees at design, construct and completion of projects.Assist in the development and implementation of arboricultural policies, guidelines, and procedures and providing technical advice which aligns with relevant Australian Standards.Carry out Arboriculture works such as tree injecting, cabling and bracing, and any other appropriate response measures relating to tree health care.Carrying out tree inspections with the aim of identifying risk related issues and providing detailed pruning recommendations and directions for the Arboriculture team to carry out.Provide tree reports such as: Tree Valuation, Development Impact, Maintenance and Management.Supervising work teams, contractors, and other employees assigned, Corporation and Contract plant, vehicles and equipment engaged in the maintenance of trees.Taking an active role in the planning and implementation of the tree planting program including selecting appropriate tree species, identifying suitable locations, and ensuring proper planting and care.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have:A Diploma of ArboricultureExperience in the provision of service delivery in the Horticultural / Arboriculture trades including work programming and cost estimating.Experience and understanding of contract and project management within a Horticultural environment.Ability to supervise contractors and employees in order to manage work and resources across a range of complex projects.Experience in delivery of customer service to clients with a focus on customer commitment.About UsLocated in the geographic heart of Kaurna Country, the City of Adelaide celebrates its cultural heritage, unique natural surrounds and structures its footprint in a way that allows it to adapt to the changing needs of the community and a dynamic global landscape.
