Your opportunity We are seeking a Technical Director to join the team to lead the delivery of major roads projects, including signature local projects, as well as opportunities to support the delivery of high-profile projects nationally and globally. You will have the opportunity to shape and grow the roads group within our wider transport team, focusing on embedding technical excellence at the core of everything we do.
In Queensland, we are currently working on iconic projects in the region such as Sunshine Coast Transport and Logan to Gold Coast Faster Rail (including level crossing removals), as well as several key planning studies and business cases that will see critical infrastructure delivered to support the 2032 Olympics. Roads play a vital role in all of these projects and you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of their delivery.
As a Technical Director - Major Projects (Roads) to be based in Queensland, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage the delivery of medium and large-scale transport projects, providing both design management and technical management skills to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients.Play a key work winning role in the growth and technical development of our transport team, with particular emphasis on expanding our capabilities in the design of major road projects.Perform engineering duties as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in planning, design and documentation of road designs and in the preparation of technical design reports and drawings.Support the transport team with pursuing new project opportunities by actively inputting to the preparation of proposals, clearly articulating our technical and delivery capability and supporting the preparation of the commercial offer for the delivery of designs for road projects.Mentor junior engineers in the transport team and provide guidance and support in their pursuit of professional qualifications.About You An inclusive leadership style.
Tertiary qualifications in Degree in a relevant Engineering or related field.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred.
Be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience working on transport projects, with a demonstrable track record in leading and delivering the design of major roads projects in Queensland.
Strong technical skills and a detailed understanding of standards and local Client requirements for the design of road infrastructure.
Engaged industry connections, particularly with the QLD Department of Transport and Main Roads.
