Our Geotechnical Engineering and Geosciences Group in Victoria has a great opportunity for a Technical Director level Hydrogeologist to join us in any of our Victorian Offices – Melbourne, Geelong, Mildura, Traralgon or Albury-Wodonga.
You'll be part of our Groundwater Resources team, comprising 10 Hydrogeologists with a broad experience mix.
The Groundwater Resources Team services internal and external clients to ensure the sustainable management of groundwater resources.
We offer specialist technical advice and capability in assessing and analysing groundwater systems, designing and managing groundwater infrastructure, facilitating economic and social values of groundwater, while protecting its environmental values.
We also support the related teams of Hydrogeologists within our Contamination Assessment and Remediation group and our Mining group.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of opportunities and will see you involved in:
Supporting the delivery of projects for the planning and execution of hydrogeological investigations and assessments, including as Technical Lead. Providing advice to our clients on groundwater resource management, policy, planning and protection, at both the state and commonwealth level. Designing and directing desktop and field based investigations, including for groundwater resource exploration, dewatering and environmental programmes, which at times are coordinated with related disciplines such as geotechnical, engineering geology, environmental, mining engineering and ecology. Supporting civil infrastructure design and reviews for major infrastructure projects. Supporting, managing and directing the delivery of data analytics and technical reporting. Business development strategy, including input to the business planning process, mapping out current and future client base and considering emerging market opportunities. Demonstrating your industry knowledge and experience to develop and maintain strong client relationships. Preparation, development and review of proposals and bids for projects. Mentoring, capacity building and knowledge sharing across the Groundwater Resources team. What you will bring to the team: Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with significant experience in Hydrogeology, ideally including within a consulting environment. Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. A positive, collaborative and forward thinking mindset, focussed on knowledge sharing and capacity building. Technical skills in groundwater resource investigations, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessments and resource evaluation. Familiarity and experience with Victoria's groundwater framework, regulations and policy would be ideal. Technical skills in geochemistry. Familiarity with spatial data analysis techniques and analytical modelling techniques. An ability to characterise a groundwater setting conceptually and identify risks and data gaps as they relate to specific developments. An understanding of or experience in numerical model development, including data collation, processing and interpretation, realistic conceptualisation, model construction, calibration and operation. Experience in supporting key aspects of project management and administration. Demonstrated proficiency in report writing. Interested?
