Drive the regional rollout of the Water Corporation's Drinking Water Quality Management Framework, ensuring safe and reliable drinking water for our customers.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity available from 25th November 2024, based at our Karratha Regional office.
What does the role involve? Undertake and support water quality investigations, site inspections, catchment management strategy reviews, water safety plan development and internal and external process audits. Support the Incident Manager and lead response activities relating to Drinking Water Quality Incidents. Lead input into the water resource licensing process, including the deployment of Water Resource Management Operations Strategies (WRMOS) within the region to ensure ongoing compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. Identify, assess, and report hazards and risks in DWQ catchments, water treatment plants, distribution and reticulation systems and support development of relevant contingency plans and actions to mitigate risks. Manage performance reporting processes within the region along with the ongoing review of variances and trends to identify and coordinate actions in response to risks to water source compliance. Actively engage and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders including regulatory and government agencies. Oversee the development and implementation of DWQ monitoring programs to ensure provision of safe drinking water. Lead a Senior Officer – Water Quality role as a direct report. Provide strategic direction into Ranger surveillance activities for drinking water source protection. Benefits of living and working in Karratha: Salary package of up to $170,000 (approx.) Base salary $112,195 + Super 11.5%. Work your full-time hours over 9 days and enjoy an RDO every fortnight! Housing subsidy may be offered. Air-conditioning subsidy. Remote location allowance from $12,865 (single rate) or $25,730 (double rate with dependant). Additional travel allowance of up to $200 per day when away from home. Annual leave loading of 17.5%. Employees in the Northwest region have the opportunity to work 1 hour of overtime each day at the applicable overtime rate. That's up to 12% per annum! We offer annual leave travel concessions. This is where you are entitled to claim additional annual leave travel days to compensate for additional travel time associated when travelling to holiday destinations from the Northwest Region. Residing above the 26th Parallel, you will be entitled to an additional 38-hours annual leave per year of service in addition to the standard entitlement. That's 5 weeks' worth of annual leave per year! No questions asked, we understand the importance of switching off and recharging every now and then. In addition to the base requirement, Water Corporation will make an additional 2% super contribution when you elect to salary sacrifice 2% of your salary to super. Christmas Eve paid leave. Key Skills & Experience: Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering or science AND considerable experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management
OR Extensive experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management.
