This family-owned dealership group is looking for a highly skilled mechanic, with the ability to mentor and advise current staff.Our client operates a successful multi-franchised dealership located in the Whitsundays region of Queensland. They are seeking a Technical Advisor to join their team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Workshop, based in the town of Proserpine. This role will be semi-productive.To be considered for this role, the right person must be a trade qualified Automotive Technician (as the role is semi-productive) with strong dealership experience. They must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be computer literate, have a commitment to excellent customer service, and have a strong ability to multi-task. You must also be highly skilled in vehicle diagnostics, with both mechanical and electrical systems.Key Job FunctionsProvide expert advice to customers on technical issuesMentor, train, and provide workshop support to staffProduce repair ordersAttend technical training when requiredWork closely with all staff in the department while reporting to the Service ManagerLiaise with the workshop to ensure time constraints are metDiagnose vehicle mechanical and electrical systemsAssist workshop technicians with technical issuesOrder partsHandle customer complaintsPromote a safe work environmentFulfill warranty requirementsTo be successful in this unique role, you must hold strong mechanical abilities while also having the right nature to train and mentor staff and assist customers in understanding technical issues with their vehicles.In return, you will be rewarded with a very strong hourly rate!
