It acts for regulatory agencies in enforcing the law, protects sensitive information from disclosure, defends government decisions, assists royal commissions and responds to claims made against the Commonwealth. It is often involved in the largest and most sensitive matters affecting the Australian Government.In this role you will: provide practice management support to one or more teams (depending on the number of lawyers) and their Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leadercollaboratively develop and implement strategies and plans to support the effective operation of the teamwork closely with senior leaders to effectively manage and ensure sufficient resources in the teamcontribute to team operations and provide guidance and support to team members with regard to policies, systems and trainingcontribute to frameworks, business plans, governance and compliance requirementssupport a range of business activities and reporting requirements.About youThis role will suit candidates who have: recent or relevant experience managing a professional services team or legal practice, or as a senior practitioner with significant understanding of or experience in the Commonwealth legal environmentthe ability to exercise high levels of discretion, integrity and diplomacythe ability to initiate, build and maintain strong internal and external client relationshipsthe ability to work under pressure, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade.You will work with a community of professionals dedicated to the national interest.
