Classification: Health Professional Level 4/ Psychologist Level 4 (PN 25988)
Note: This role will be filled at either Health Professional Level 4 or Psychologist Level P4 depending on qualifications and experience, in line with the Enterprise Agreement
Salary: $121,389 - $136,035 (Plus 11.5% Super)

About the Role: Mental Health, Justice Health, Alcohol & Drug Services (MHJHADS) provide health services directly and through partnerships with community organisations. The services provided range from prevention and treatment to recovery, maintenance, and harm minimisation. Consumer and carer participation is encouraged in all aspects of service planning and delivery. The Division works in partnership with consumers, carers and a range of government and non-government service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
The Division delivers services at a number of locations, including hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, community health centres, detention centres, and other community settings including peoples' homes.
These services include:
Adult Acute Mental Health Services Adult Community Mental Health Services Alcohol & Drug Services Justice Health Services Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) CAMHS provides assessment and treatment for young people up to the age of 18 years who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues. CAMHS has a number of specialist teams, three of which are the co-located Cottage, DBT and Childhood Early Intervention Programs outlined below.
The Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Team is a specialist team within CAMHS that provides evidence-based individual and skills group therapeutic intervention to young people (14-18 years) who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and meet a minimum of three criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder.
The Cottage Adolescent Day Program is a therapeutic group program for young people between the ages of 12 and 18 in the ACT who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues which over time have impacted on their ability to attend schooling. The Cottage has a recovery focus and the program aims to reduce the severity of mental health symptoms and achieve functional gain in schooling, social functioning, and life skills.
The Childhood Early Intervention Program (CEIP) is a specialist team within CAMHS with a focus on mental health well-being and early intervention for primary school-aged children. The CEIP is a multidisciplinary team that works in collaboration with the Education Department and Community Services Directorates.
CEIP delivers both group and individual-based intervention and support to children and families within ACT primary schools as well as mental health in-reach and secondary consultation to the Child and Family Centres.
The team manager role will provide clinical and operational leadership to The Cottage, DBT, and Childhood Early Intervention Programs. This team managerial role will include the daily management of a multidisciplinary service, including clinical leadership of intake, assessment, delivery of evidence-based treatment, care escalation, and consultation and liaison. They will also be responsible for chairing multi-disciplinary team meetings, clinical case reviews, and operational management of staff.
The role will also require the team manager to undertake professional development, participate and lead quality initiatives, and manage human, financial, and physical resources, including work, health, and safety.
Additionally, the role is required to be available to work within all program areas of CAMHS, as service needs arise.
This vacancy is a temporary position with potential for extension and/or permanency. An Order of Merit may be used to fill similar future vacancies within a 12-month period.
