Permanent full-time role Salary (Level 7 Officer): $117,012 to $124,204 per annum inclusive of annual leave loading plus superannuation One rostered day off per month Flexible work options Based in Hilton on the city fringe The City of West Torrens is recruiting a key leadership role responsible for the oversight of Council's waste services, advancing sustainability and developing recycling and recovery strategies.
In this role you will lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on initiating, developing and managing projects, programs and policies to deliver Council's waste and resource recovery goals and objectives.
Other key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):   providing marketing expertise to promote and advance resource recovery, waste management, and circular economy initiatives developing, implementing and reviewing strategic waste, resource recovery and circular economy policy and plans driving organisational and community awareness of current and emerging waste, resource recovery and circular economy opportunities providing subject matter expertise and advice.
Who you are  We are looking for an individual who has a proven ability to lead teams and projects and has extensive experience working in the area of waste, sustainability and resource recovery.
Your expertise will be complemented by an ability to exercise sound judgement, complex problem solving and demonstrating high levels of integrity in decision making.
A degree in a relevant discipline (Sustainability, Environmental Science, Public Policy or related field).is an essential requirement for this recruitment.
In accordance with the requirements of this role, a national police clearance (within six months of issue) will be required as part of the recruitment process.
Note: The CWT is a COVID-19 vaccinated workplace, so if successful in gaining employment with the CWT you will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status indicating you have received your two primary doses (or three primary doses if immunocompromised) or alternately your SA Health approved vaccination exemption.
