About the team Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team provides support in a variety of accommodation types, including shared living and independent living options. They also provide support in a clients' own home where required.
Your role as a Team Leader – Supported Living We are currently seeking an experienced, proactive, and motivated Team Leaderto join our supportive team working in greater Hobart (Kingston region).
In this role you will lead a team of Support Workers who work with clients to improve their daily lives and achieve their individual goals.
In this role you will:
Monitor and prepare reports about client progress, quotes and plan reviews, as requestedMonitor, review, and update all client related data and documentation, and report all changes to support staffMaintain and monitor all client funds within your delegation and report changes a required, including advising management when additional funds are required for client supportsMonitor the use of restrictive practices and report as requiredMaintain communication with all stakeholders, including families, financial administrators, allied health and medical providers, guardians, other service providers, and any other significant persons regarding client supportPrepare and summarise documents required for health care specialists, as requiredPrepare agendas and facilitate staff meetings, focusing on quality audits, client needs and any changes to Nexus policy and/or proceduresConduct individual staff supervision, performance reviews and liaise with Human Resources as requiredMonitor staff training needs, attendance and performanceSupervise and undertake all requirements for new staff, including conducting buddy shifts, orientation, site inductions and sign off on probationsProvide On Call support in response to staff and client matters as part of a rotating On Call rosterAbout YouOur ideal candidate will have the following (Selection Criteria) Well-developed written and verbal skills with an ability to communicate across different levels of the organisationSubstantial experience supporting people with a disability, or other similar experience providing direct care supportsStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasksCapacity to build rapport and provide support to employeesHigh level data management skillsKnowledge of statutory requirements relevant to your workAbility to manage a diverse teamExperience in a similar position in the not-for-profit sector (desirable)Understanding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) (desirable)Diploma of Disability, or Diploma of Community Services, or Diploma of Frontline Management (desirable)Working in the disability sector means you will also need the following: Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (with NDIS endorsement)Current First Aid certificate and medication training (HLTHPS006)Certificate of full Covid 19 vaccination (in-line with government requirements).Note: A pre-employment medical will be required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).
