Join our team in the Student Services and Support Directorate as the Team Leader, Student Communications and Engagement, where you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience at James Cook University.
Full time and continuing position
Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas (due to the nature of duties, this role is based on campus exclusively)
HEWL 7: $94,374 - $104,359 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This opportunity will see you deliver sector-leading, high-quality events and activities, both on campus and online, that contribute to a vibrant high-quality student experience. As the Team Leader you will coordinate the provision of information from across the institution, utilising both digital and traditional communication channels, to keep JCU students informed and engaged. Building strong and positive working relationships will be a key aspect of the role, as you'll work closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including student bodies, to develop high quality, accurate communications, and diverse activities nurturing a whole-of-institution approach to student life. Your ability to lead by example through coaching, mentoring, and supervision, will foster a culture of high performance, customer service, teamwork, and innovation to meet performance outcomes. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Expertise and Qualifications:A degree qualification and background in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field, coupled with relevant experience, preferably in a higher education setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and/or training.
Engagement Extraordinaire:Proven mastery in leading and delivering dynamic, high-quality communication and engagement strategies across both digital and traditional platforms. You'll also have skills and experience in end-to-end events or project management.
Student Insight:Detailed knowledge of student demographic, equity, outreach, and related legislation.
Analytical Agility: Data driven with a focus on risk management and quality assurance. Your insights will drive strategic improvements.
Digital Fluency:Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, coupled with experience using a range of other applications such as Customer Relationship Management systems (or similar), communication automation tools, social media platforms and content creation tools, such as the Adobe Suite.
Masterful Communication:An opportunistic collaborator with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to consult and liaise with stakeholders across all levels.
Dynamic Leadership:Demonstrated leadership and management experience, showcasing your ability to create a positive workplace culture, manage performance, and leading a team to achieve outstanding outcomes in an innovative and fast paced environment.
ABOUT THE STUDENT SERVICES DIRECTORATE
The Student Services Directorate is responsible for managing and coordinating a broad range of student administrative and enquiry management functions and services that are critical to the student experience. Services cover the stages of the student life cycle, from once admitted to a course through to graduation. Areas within the Directorate include: Academic Administration and Enrolment; Client Services, Communications and Engagement (including student events and activities); Student Finance and Scholarships; Examinations and Graduations; and Student Matters (including complaints, reviews and appeals).
