We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to lead our Risk and Audit Team.
This position, in collaboration with the Manager Strategy and Performance, will lead the organisation in a contemporary approach to risk, business continuity, emergency management, insurance and audit services to strengthen resilience and integrity.
The position will engage people across the organisation to support them to strengthen Council's operations and manage risks strategically to deliver the best value for our community.
Key responsibilities of the position include:

Leads the implementation of Council's Enterprise Risk Management Framework, integrating risk management into strategic planning and operations.
Develops, maintains, and monitors the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including risk registers and internal controls.
Manages the Internal Audit Program, Business Continuity Plan, and Emergency Management arrangements.
Oversees Council's claims, insurance portfolio, and incident management, maintaining strong relationships with relevant risk services.
Provides training, advisory services, and prepares reports and business cases on risk, business continuity, and emergency management for Council leadership.

The successful applicant will have:

Degree or post-graduate studies in business management, legal, corporate governance and/or related fields (or equivalent experience) is essential.
Professional accreditation, for example certification from the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (highly desirable).
Extensive experience in governance functions related to risk, audit, and internal controls, using modern methodologies.
Expertise in business continuity and emergency management, with experience leading organisational programs and improvements.
Proven stakeholder management skills, delivering quality customer service and fostering strong business relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, enabling innovation and business value creation.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with deep knowledge of risk management, business continuity, insurance, and audit practices.

This is a Level 7 position which has a current salary range of $120,483 - $128,062 per annum (plus superannuation).
