Talk to us about how this could work for you.Hours per fortnight73.50 hours per fortnight- flexible options available.DutiesWith a focus on the criminal jurisdiction, provide complex procedural advice to registry stakeholders, including Court legal officers, the Registrar, legal practitioners and their staff, litigants in person, government agencies, members of the public, and Court staff.Provide assistance, guidance and procedural advice to the civil and probate registries and liaise with other team leaders to facilitate coverage of all sections of the registry.Contribute to the achievement of team objectives by leading a small multi-skilled team.Manage and oversee the preparation of criminal matters for court listings, including assisting with case management and working with all stakeholders, within and outside the and supervise the operational use of the databases and information systems within the registry, including training, application of system standards, reporting and user support.Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, common law, Rules of Court, practice directions, circulars and procedures applicable to the role and be responsive to changes in rules, legislation and case law, including developing procedures in response to legislative changes.Undertake special projects involving research, evaluation and formulation of informed views and recommendations, and provide administrative support as incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications, and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification ChecksThe Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or following checks are to be conducted:•Arson and fire setting•Violent crimes and crimes against the person•Sex-related offences•Drug and alcohol related offences•Crimes involving dishonesty•Crimes involving deception•Making false declarations•Malicious damage and destruction to property•Serious traffic offences•Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice•Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power•Crimes involving Conspiracy2.Disciplinary action in previous employment.Appointment as a Justice of the Peace or willingness to apply for appointment.Download the Statement of Duties and any Associated DocumentsTo apply, please provide a Short Form Application which is a 1-2 page covering letter outlining your experience, skills and knowledge as they relate to the Statement of Duties, and a copy of your current Resumé/CV.
