AFP Corporate Enabling Services The AFP's corporate enabling services are delivered through a centrally distributed tiered operating model, supporting the AFP through the functions of Human Resources (HR), Finance and Commercial, Procurement, Contract Management, Planning and Performance.
As a Corporate Team Leader, you play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture consistent with the AFP values, AFP Core Leadership Continuum, the AFP Corporate Plan and your Performance Development Agreement.
You will be responsible for the execution of your team's duties and possess the ability to communicate with influence, demonstrating a high degree of independence to provide advice to a diverse range of stakeholders, including Senior Executives.

Role Summary As the Team Leader of the Planning & Performance Team, you report to and work under the broad direction of the Assistant Corporate Business Partner and Corporate Business Partner.
You are responsible for leading and managing your team in the day-to-day delivery of planning and performance services, portfolio, program and change management and governance and assurance services for the Command/s aligned with the CCSU service offer.
You will build and maintain comprehensive Command business acumen that coupled with your subject matter expertise will enable the delivery of relevant, timely and evidence-based HR services that will position the Command to achieve superior operational outcomes.
You will work collaboratively with other CCSU Leaders, Command Executives and national teams/centres of excellence to solve complex corporate issues through the provision of consistent high-quality customer service to stakeholders, and foster a positive reputation and trust in the team.
This role is based in Southern Command (SC), Melbourne.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual.
Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
As the Planning & Performance Team Leader, you will undertake complex work under limited direction, while leading your team to deliver high-quality corporate enabling services in accordance with the CCSUs agreed service offerings.
Your responsibilities include the following: Work collaboratively with the COO Portfolio, national teams to effectively align annual business planning with organisational and command-specific strategic direction, actively support major projects and initiatives and deliver governance and assurance services.
Oversee support to the management team in regards to high-level performance monitoring, data analysis and reporting in accordance with regional and organisational priorities.
Contribute to the development of AFP New Policy Proposals (NPPs) through the provision of Command specific data estimations, actioning requests from the COO Portfolio and tracking the Command's progress in relation to New Policy Initiatives (NPI).
Lead a team to: track the Command's progress in relation to New Policy Initiatives (NPI).
develop Command-specific strategies to address compliance issues and undertake compliance reporting on all Command activities.
manage the audit schedule, including oversight of audit reporting and information.
monitor Command-specific governance instruments ensuring they are up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with AFP best practice.
deliver Command-specific program/project status reports to inform the Command's monthly briefings and Capability Board reporting requirements.
deliver risk management activities, including assessing the Command's operational risks and mitigation strategies.
Support the Command during Senate Estimates, including responding to queries as they arise as well as overseeing the coordination and preparation of accurate and meaningful Command specific data.
Oversee internal communications/marketing in conjunction with other CCSU teams.
Oversee and coordinate SC careers and recruitment marketing events and volunteers in consultation with AFP Recruitment Marketing.
Develop and maintain content for the SC Hub Site (in partnership with SC Commercial Support).
Coordinate output and provision of subject matter expertise to the SC Culture Committee.
Provision of insightful, persuasive and trusted advice to a diverse range of senior stakeholders and frontline clients.
Research and identify opportunities for improvement, utilising innovative concepts and methodologies to enhance business outcomes and facilitate change.
Oversee and ensure the delivery of all relevant business, strategic and enterprise-wide reporting requirements.
Maintain currency in subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process to ensure you are up to date with the impact of changes in Government policy and initiate and contribute to appropriate responses.
Effectively build and maintain capability within the team, while managing the day-to-day performance of team members.
Essential Requirements You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
Demonstrated experience in providing effective and high-level consultancy and partnership support to senior management.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project management skills.
