Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2): $2,476.80

Where you'll be working Macquarie Hospital - Pathways to Community Living Initiative Stage 2What you'll be doing The Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) is a coordinated state-wide approach to supporting people with enduring and serious mental illness who have been in hospital for more than twelve months to, wherever possible, re-establish their lives in the community. The initiative was established as part of the Government's commitment to strengthen mental health care in NSW by developing effective community-based residential care and support options for people experiencing long stays in mental health inpatient units. The Team Leader is a senior health professional who, through leadership, facilitates evidence informed clinical practice and evaluation for the identified consumer cohort which is, safe, innovative, strategic, and sustainable. The Team Leader will provide leadership, management and accountability for staff within the portfolio and will ensure clinical practice is consistent and in accordance with evidenced based practice. The incumbent will liaise closely with the inpatient teams, the PCLI Staff Specialist and multidisciplinary team and the PCLI Program Manager to ensure seamless integration and coordination of day to day services and provide appropriate advice and support as required. The Team Leader will work Monday to Friday and carry a clinical caseload.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Nurse, or eligibility for membership with the AASW as a Social Worker; Clinical Psychologist must hold Masters in Clinical psychology or equivalent; Allied Health must have demonstrated experience as a Level 2 clinician and substantial experience in Mental Health. Significant level of clinical expertise relevant to adults experiencing severe and persistent mental health conditions with multiple complex co-occurring issues and knowledge and understanding of mental health recovery, person-centred care and contemporary models of care. Demonstrated experience effectively leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to develop teams and partnerships and create a culture of collaboration, capacity building and quality. Demonstrated ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability undertake service and cohort analysis to write quality briefs and reports.
