But enough about us, let's talk about you We are in the market for a self-motivated and experienced individual who is able to lead a team in providing efficient and effective general bushland maintenance tasks in the City's bushland, estuary and coastal reserves. You are passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge. You are friendly, supportive and actively listen to the needs of others.You enjoy working with people, can build strong relationships, and are open to the opinions of others.You set challenging but realistic goals, reflect and learn from experiences and problem solve to get the job done.You provide leadership to ensure safety standards are maintained.You lead the team in providing bushland maintenance tasks including:native species identification and pruning;tree planting, guarding and monitoring;assessment monitoring and mapping activities within reserves;integrated weed control and identification;fence installation and repairs;general bushland, coastal, wetland rehabilitation and maintenance.You ensure the proper operation and security of materials, plant and equipment.You undertake daily regular maintenance and safety inspections of tools and machinery.You are skilled in traffic management.You provide on the job training and guidance to employees including trainees under supervision.What can you bring to the team? Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management/Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and/or Diploma in Conservation and Land Management.Current unrestricted C class national driver's licence.Previous experience supervising employees and conducting practical staff training.Previous experience in a bushland conservation environment including weed control and the safe handling and application of weed spray chemicals.Experience in general bushland rehabilitation construction and maintenance activities.Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices.Current White Card.Current Basic First Aid Certificate.Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller Certificate.The finer details This permanent full time OSE 4 position attracts a starting salary of $73,786 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
