The Team Leader Mowing Operations is responsible for assisting in mowing maintenance of various parks, roadsides, and other open space turf sites within the Hume City Council municipality.
What you'll be doing: Provide direct support and assistance to the Coordinator Turf Management in the planning, development, and maintenance of turf management activities across the Hume Municipality.Develop and implement mowing programs for parks, reserves, and road reserves across the City.Conduct regular condition inspections and audits.Conduct toolbox talks as and when required.Monitor and report on contractor performance and quality of work against the department's service delivery standards.Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Park's turf maintenance and works budget.Provide technical information and research opportunities to support continuous improvement and develop costed proposals for the consideration of the Coordinator.The skills and experience you'll bring to the role: Demonstrated ability to manage time, including setting priorities, planning, and organising various works programs.Demonstrated experience and the ability to conduct compliance audits in line with Council Management System.Demonstrated experience in mowing maintenance and, more widely, park management.Ability to communicate and gain trust and confidence of contractors, consultants, staff, and people of the community at all levels.Proven ability to lead, train and motivate work teams.Ability to work within set budgets and timelines.Proven technical skills in the operation of front deck mowing equipment, tractors, and trucks (up to 13.9 tonnes GCM).Ability to prepare reports and source, collate and present accurate detailed data.Traffic Management Training and Experience.Required Certifications & Qualifications: Certificate IV or Diploma in Horticulture/Turf Management with substantial experience in the supervision of contractors and staff in the delivery of open space management activities is desirable.Current Victorian Driver's license, including truck license (up to 13.9 tonnes GCM).We encourage applicants to use the 'Leave message to Hiring Manager' functionality detailing why you are interested in the role and why you believe you are suitable.
