Join Our Team as a Mental Health Team Leader at Limestone Coast Local Health Network! We are seeking an experienced clinician to lead our dedicated mental health team in delivering exceptional, evidence-based, recovery-oriented care within the Limestone Coast region. As a Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating consumer care, ensuring that our services are integrated and responsive to the needs of our community.
In this position, you will manage and inspire your local mental health team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. You will work closely with both government and non-government service providers to ensure continuity and quality of care, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
You will be accountable for your practice standards and the development of less experienced staff, guiding them in accordance with the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering high-quality consumer care, addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy, and cultivating a positive work environment that prioritizes consumer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: Evidence-Based Decision Making: Integrate contemporary information and personal experience to enhance decision-making and innovative thinking, using your expert clinical knowledge to optimize mental health nursing care. Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate mental health consumer care delivery to ensure continuity, quality outcomes, and efficient consumer flow. Specialist Expertise: Provide complex clinical and consultancy services across the Local Health Network (LHN) and relevant professional networks, utilizing your specialist knowledge. Advisory Role: Advise management on service development and practice redesign, addressing demand and consumer needs effectively. Cultural Competence: Understand health issues and service barriers facing Aboriginal consumers to ensure culturally appropriate care. Professional Independence: Operate with clinical competence and advanced reflective-practice skills, applying innovative techniques as needed. Strategic Knowledge: Leverage your understanding of the LHN's strategic directions and operational challenges to manage complex responsibilities effectively. What We're Looking For: RN/M3
Qualifications: Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate and a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent). Experience: At least 3 years of post-registration experience, demonstrating competence in mental health nursing, along with leadership experience in management roles. Skills: Background in quality improvement activities and experience supervising multidisciplinary teams, including student and less experienced nurses. Familiarity with providing culturally appropriate health services for Aboriginal consumers and communities is highly valued. AHP3
Must hold a recognised qualification within the professions of Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychology.For Occupational Therapy, must fulfill all requirements to obtain and maintain current practicing registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of SA. For Social Work, must be eligible for practicing membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Must have participated in ongoing professional development in line with AASW guidelines. For Psychology must hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology or recognised equivalent and be registered to practice psychology, meeting National Registration requirements. Why Join Us?
